Dive Site Cannibal Rock

Dive site Cannibal Rock is not good for novices. Although the marine life is very rich here, this submerged pinnacle is too exposed to the current. You will have to do extra struggle too as the surface can be too choppy. Cannibal Rock lies east of Komodo Island, south to Rinca Island, approximately 1km from the northern coast of Nusa Kode dive site. The depth here is between 5 and 35m with visibility around 5 to 20m. This Komodo diving site can be too cold at 20 degrees but when everything is normal it is warm enough at 25 degrees.

Dive site Pink Beach is called Pantai Merah by local people. The naming describes the place well: it has red colored sand. This Komodo diving site is part of Komodo Island’s shoreline. It is probably the most well-known Komodo dive site as you have to pass this dive site when you want to see the fiery dragons from the park station. Travellers moor their boats in the bay in the evening not far away from Pink Beach and at night they took a night dive in this dive site. Of course you can also plunge into the water at daylight.

Dive site Nusa Kode promises best diving sessions for novices and advanced alike. There are not many currents here. In fact, even when the current is flowing, it is rather mild at 0-1 knot. Average depth here is around 18 meters but you can try swimming down to 30 meters. Horizontal visibility is around 20 meters but unfortunately there are not many fish to see here. In addition, this dive site can be too cold at its 21 degrees minimum temperature. It is never too hot though, as it is only 29 degrees at maximum – promising best diving throughout the day.

Dive site Crinoid Canyon stands as one of the top dive sites in the world with its rich crinoid life. This Komodo dive site is in fact a heaven for crinoids, popularly known among scuba divers community as feather stars or sea lilies. To visit this dive site, we need to find Loh Dasami, or Dasami Bay, at Nusa Kode Island. Crinoid Canyon is located at a small cove right at the outside of the southern entrance of this bay. Almost opposite of it is another Komodo diving site, the Yellow Wall (well, there are a lot of top dive sites in the island but at present we want to focus on Crinoid Canyon).
